Our 2024 New Holland 275 is the biggest small square baler New Holland makes that can carry a hydraulic kicker, and it uses every bit of it, launching bales right into the wagon. Add a hydraulic swing and a built-in moisture meter, and this baler is all brains and brawn.

Every bale has to go somewhere, and at Hay Andy Farms it lands in one of our EZ Trail wagons. These wagons are a perfect match for baling because they give us two options. When the hay is coming in fast, the baler's kicker tosses bales right in with no stacking needed, and a wagon holds about 150 to 175 bales that way. When we take the time to stack them neatly, the same wagon can carry 250 to 275 bales, depending on bale size and weight. And keep an eye out this holiday season: you just might see one of our wagons at the Sandy Hook tree lighting!

Big Mable is our International 706, a gear-drive tractor with plenty of muscle and a name to match. She recently had her engine and power take-off (PTO) rebuilt, the PTO being the spinning shaft that powers implements like mowers and balers. With those major repairs behind her, Big Mable is back in top shape and ready to [handle her regular jobs around the farm].

Old rake, new lease on life. Our New Holland 256 got a top-to-bottom rehab in 2023, and now it's back doing what it does best: rolling up the hay into tidy rows so Chloe and the baler can finish the job.

Back in the day, the New Holland 316 was the king of small square balers, and ours still wears the crown. Its hydraulic kicker launches bales straight into the wagon, and its built-in moisture meter checks every bale on the go. Chloe pulls, the 316 bales, and the wagon fills up fast.

Good hay starts with good drying, and that's the John Deere 2355's specialty. At Hay Andy Farms, this tractor is used almost exclusively for tedding, pulling the tedder through freshly cut fields to fluff and spread the hay so it dries evenly in the sun. It's rugged enough for long hours in the field and fuel efficient enough to keep those hours affordable, which makes it the perfect match for the job.

This is our new Holland Tedder. Tedding is a way to quickly and efficiently flip hay over so that it dries faster and more evenly. Up until the 70s farmers simply used rakes to roll the hay over but as weather became less predictable Tedders became more popular!

When it's time to make hay, Chloe leads the way. Our 1986 International 3288 made the trip down from upstate New York to join Hay Andy Farms, and today she's our main baling tractor. She has the power and endurance for long days in the hayfield, pulling the baler row after row until the job is done. If you see bales stacked up around the farm, chances are Chloe had a hand in making them.

The newest addition to Hay Andy Farms arrived in 2026 and took over running the discbine, the mower that cuts and conditions the hay so it's ready to dry. This tractor may be older than I am, but it has the weight and horsepower to pull our equipment up the steep hills on our fields, where a lighter tractor would struggle. Nearly forty years old and still the right tool for the job.

Not every job on the farm needs a big tractor, and that's where our 1966 International Cub comes in. This compact workhorse handles a little bit of everything around Hay Andy Farms, from [mowing and light tilling / hauling small loads / tending the garden rows] to whatever else the day calls for. Its small size makes it easy to maneuver in tight spots, and after nearly six decades it's still one of the most useful machines we have.
